Another one of those things is that the people of New Orleans love their meat. New Orleans is home to some of the best steakhouses in the country, and it’s no wonder.

Galatoire's 33 Bar & Steak
French Quarter

Galatoire's 33 Bar & Steak

Galatoire's is a 100+ year old institution in the French Quarter, directly on Bourbon St. Don't let the debauchery on the street fool you from what's going on inside the restaurant. The recipes and traditions are imported from Jean Galatoire's upbringing in France in the 1800's and translates to a classic steakhouse menu wonderfully. Bar 33 is the side of the restaurant serving steaks and came to be in 2013. Just like the OG restaurant, jackets are required for men.

La Boca Steakhouse

La Boca, is a Argentinian steakhouse in the CBD of New Orleans. Inspired by the "Parilladas" type of dining, meaning a meal consisting of different types of grilled & barbecued meats, La Boca boasts the largest variety of cuts in Nola. The restaurant has a comfortable, casual vibe with locals noting the “knife service” (waiters bring a box of steak knives and let diners pick their weapon of choice) as their favorite part. Perfect for a romantic date night to transport you to Buenes Aires for the night or come with a group and get your steaks served on a large cutting board family style with flights of different sauces for a unique steakhouse experience in the heart of New Orleans.

Desi Vega's Steakhouse
SteakhouseCBD

Desi Vega's Steakhouse

Desi Vega of Desi Vega's has built his namesake steakhouse off the expertise he gained working with some of the biggest names in New Orleans restaurants like Ella Brennan (Commander's Palace), Ruth Fertel (Ruth Chris's Steakhouse), and Emirel Legasse (no introduction needed). The menu mirrors a classic steakhouse with appetizers like spinach & artichoke dip, “Who Dat” shrimp & french onion soup and steak cuts ranging from filet mignon to Porterhouse's for two. The food is top notch but it is the dining experience to make you feel like family & royalty that Mr. Vega is cultivating that really puts this place on the map.

Charlie's Steak House
SteakhouseFreret ● Uptown

Charlie's Steak House

Charlie's steakhouse has been family run for 3 generations tucked into a quiet New Orleans neighborhood right off St. Charles. It's known as a bourban man's place to eat, with a classic old fashioned or just bourbon on the rocks being as important a staple as the thick cuts of steak and classic sides. Things have changed since 1932 but back in the day there was no menu and patrons told the waiter “how big and what temp”. Don't be scared away by the classic feel, Charlie's now has the amenities expected from a classic steakhouse but with all the old world charm you could ask for.
